Hi! My name is Kristen, and I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) – Clinical Specialist in private practice. I live and work within Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq, also recognized as Nova Scotia. I am grateful for the opportunity to live, work, and engage in learning on these lands.

I’ve had the privilege of working with and learning from various communities for over fifteen years.

I specialize in supporting clients struggling with complex trauma (such as C-PTSD) and serious mental illness.

  • How are the therapy sessions conducted?
    In-person and online via teletherapy. I am currently licensed to work with clients who live in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
  • What types of insurance do you accept?
    Medavie Blue Cross, Manulife, Canada Life
    If your insurance isn’t listed above, please get in touch with your insurer to confirm whether my services (Registered Social Worker – Clinical Specialist) are covered.

  • Who can benefit from getting therapy?
    We all can benefit from therapy in multiple ways. Whether attempting to cope with distressing psychological symptoms, processing trauma histories, evolving from self-limiting beliefs, or change problematic behaviours and/or thought patterns, people engage in therapy for many different reasons.

  • How much does therapy cost?
    $180 per 50-minute session. However, some fees vary depending on the provider and individual plans.
    I do offer some pro bono and reduced fee sessions. Please inquire if you are interested in connecting but cannot afford my full fee. If I do not have immediate availability to offer pro bono/reduced fee, I hold a waitlist for those interested.
